Can I send you my tattoo picture(s)?
You sure can. Send me your image(s), along with info on the artist and tat shop where it/they were inked. Include your name if you would like it posted on the site. Send the image(s) at a good resolution. I will not post images that are too grainy, too small, or too dark. The address: . Please note: I receive several picture submissions every day. As a result, it is impossible for me to confirm receipt of your images. However, I will e-mail you if I post your picture(s) on the site.

Can you design my tattoo for me?
Unfortunately, I am not a tattoo artist or even an artist. I'm just a guy who loves Christ and tattoos. So I have no design skills, and you would not want me to sketch a tattoo for you.

First, have a look around the site. The tattoo you want may be in one of smaller sections. Otherwise, I suggest you try Google searches. Unfortunately, I just don't have time to search the Web for people.

I really want to get a bible verse, but I don't know which one. Could you help me out?
Choosing a tattoo is a very personal choice, one that I don't believe I should be involved in when it comes to others. If you want a bible verse, I suggest you spend some time reading the bible and, of course, pray about it.

Where are you located?
I live and work in Toronto, Canada. But again, I am not a tattoo artist, so I don't have a tattoo shop.

No. The site was created as a resource so that people could share their artwork and inspire others. So go ahead.

My parents are against tattoos. What should I do?
First, you should pray. Then print out two copies of the Bible Support article. Have your parents read the article and then have a discussion. Hopefully everything will work out. One caution though: our freedom from the ritual laws that at one time banned tattoos is not greater than our responsibilities under the commandments now. Above our desires, we must love and honor our parents (one of the first five commandments). So, if in the end they disagree, you need to honor that decision.

How much does [name of tattoo] cost?
Tattoo cost depends on many things, including color, size, detail or complexity, skill level of the artist, and the tattoo market in the area. So there is no accurate way for me to tell how much a tattoo can or should cost. I suggest you print out the tattoo picture and contact a local artist for a quote.

Unfortunately, I am not accepting pictures in the mail at the moment.

Can you send me more pictures of [name of favourite tattoo]?
Unfortunately, I receive a tremendous amount of these requests and because of the sheer number of different requests, it is impossible for me to fulfil such requests. I suggest you check back with the site regularly to see if new tattoos are added.

Do you know of any Christian/good tattoo artists in [name of your area]?
As I am not an artist and not part of the industry, I really don't have much knowledge of who is good or who is Christian. The Christian Tattoo Association has a members list that includes Christian tat artists in the U.S. and around the world.

How do I become a tattoo artist
As far as I know, there is only one way to get a job as a tattoo artist. Like carpenters and plumbers, you have to apprentice. You will need to find a local tattoo shop that is willing to take you on and teach you the ropes. Of course, you will probably need to present them with a portfolio.

I don't have the designs for any of the tattoos posted on the site. All of the images are sent to me from site visitors, and none have sent me any of their designs.

Unfortunately, I don't know any Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic or other language. You can get translations in several languages at Tattoos by Design.

What is the significance of the sparrow?
The sparrow imagery comes from Matthew 10:29-31 and Luke 12:6-7, when Jesus is talking about how much God cares for each of us:
29 Are not two sparrows sold for a [1] cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. 30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.
