My Nanautzin Tattoo

This is a scene depicting the Toltec (Central American) god Nanautzin saving the world from destruction. Nanautzin, originally the god of garbage, jumped into the sun in order to bring life to the world. He made the leap because no one, not even Tecciztecatl, the mightest of the gods, dared to lose his life for others.
This tattoo was done at Way Cool TattoosDowntown in Toronto and is at the bottom of my back, just above my waist, on the right side.
Many people have criticized me for this tattoo, suggesting that I have profaned my body with the image of false idols. I can only reply that I view this image/story the same as I view any story about Mayan or Greek or Roman gods. They are not believable. They are simply myths and fables that sometimes have the ability to transmit fundamental truths. In the above scene, I see a people who were aware of Christ without experiencing him yet. Central America now knows the risen Lord.
